Calibration is a set of operations that establish, under specified conditions, the relationship between values indicated by a measuring instrument and the values corresponding to the standards used.
Why is necessary ?
Calibration of measuring instruments is very important to guarantee the quality of manufacturing a given product. It ensures that the instruments used to control your product are within acceptable criteria and that they will not harm the final quality of the product.
At what frequency should the weighing instrument be calibrated?
The ideal scale calibration frequency may vary according to the scale to be calibrated and the frequency of its use. For example: A scale may have a calibration frequency of 1 year and is rarely used.
A scale that is used frequently should have a shorter calibration time.
Example:6 months maximum. There is no rule, however, several studies show that in order to know what is the ideal frequency of calibration of a scale, we must analyze where and how it is used before stipulating a period.
